Benchmark policy

What can be benchmarked.

First Try is designed for publicly accessible software products with enough information for a fair, repeatable product-understanding benchmark.

Generally eligible

  • Live software products with a public product page
  • Developer tools, APIs, B2B, consumer, and AI products
  • Owner-requested and clearly labeled Mlola editorial benchmarks

Not currently eligible

  • Sites requiring credentials before any product information is visible
  • Illegal, deceptive, unsafe, or rights-infringing products
  • Pages designed primarily to manipulate automated evaluation
  • Submissions without authority to purchase or provide the URL

Publication and labels

Owner-requested profiles and independent Mlola editorial benchmarks are labeled differently. An editorial result never implies purchase, participation, or endorsement by the company evaluated.
